FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bradley To Run For Papio-Missouri NRD District 3
OMAHA – Larry Bradley, member of the Nebraska Environmental
Quality Council, officially announced today that he is seeking the
Papio-Missouri Natural Resource District sub-district 3 office.
“The support and encouragement I have received to run for the
Papio-Missouri NRD has been overwhelming,” Bradley said.
Larry Bradley’s dedication, passion, leadership, stewardship and
diverse background have prepared Larry to effectively represent
the 3rd sub-district of the Papio-Missouri NRD.
Bradley was appointed by the Governor of Nebraska to serve on
the Environmental Quality Council for the state of Nebraska. The
statewide body adopts air, water and land quality standards aimed
at protecting the public’s health and serves as a steward of
Nebraska’s natural resources.
“I will make thoughtful, sound, educated decisions as a steward
of the natural resources of Papio-Missouri NRD, while carefully
watch taxpayer expenditures,” states Bradley.
Obviously, the increase of dam sites is the main issue for the
electorate. Bradley says, “While we want to protect human life
and property from potential flooding, we should also diligently
pursue alternatives used in other parts of the country, and
petition different levels of government for real incentives to
develop conservation measures while developing or
upgrading”. Bradley states, “If after sound scientific studies
dictate that a dam is the only way to go, then I will work to insure
that it is not just a place for million dollar homes and that all
Nebraskans get equal access to natural resources paid for by tax
dollars”.
Larry is a lifelong Omahan and is completing his Ph.D. in
Geography at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Bradley has
taught as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Nebraska
- Omaha, where he was an instructor in Environmental Geology.
Bradley is a veteran of the United States Army and is currently a
member of the American G.I. Forum, Omaha Chapter. His wife,
Sylvia, practices pulmonary medicine in the Omaha area. Larry
and Sylvia have a daughter, Bianca, and a son, Xavier. The
children attend Marian and Cathedral.
Paid for by Larry Bradley for NRD.
